Visual Porn, Tron Interactive Skate Ramp for Movie Premiere ::video::

For me, Tron was like a 3-D porno:  visually stimulating, bad story line.

Even still, some good things did come out of it. Case in point,   this bad ass skate ramp designed by Australian interaction design firm, ENESS. Designed for the premier of Tron, this is the first time anything like this has been done.

According to PSFK:
The team uses overhead projection to map visuals onto the ramp and to track the skater’s movements. Riders wear iPods running a custom ENESS app that measures air time and coordinates additional motion graphics with aerials & landings. The result is a kaleidoscope of patterns, trails, starbursts, and text elements flowing with the movement of the skaters.

This video is worth a peak, even if you just get through the eye candy at the beginning. If you hang on you can watch the actual construction of the ramp by clicking.

All in all, amazing.

Absolutely Stunning Use of Interactive Technology
