Ever Eclectic Honey Soundsystem: you don’t know what you don’t know, until you know

It seems fitting on Thanksgiving to do piece on the first annual Honey Appreciation Party.

As one of the few dance parties where the music is the draw, not the scantily clad patrons, every party is meaningful in its own way. The common thread is the tumultuous ambiance, fueled by free thinkers, wrapped in wide range of DJing styles and sounds.

The one thing you can count on is having a unique experience that you won’t regret having staid up late for, on Monday.

The theme of the Honey Appreciation party was to thank all of those who have helped build the Honey hive and to also thank the community by putting the spotlight on them. One hundred percent of the door went to the GLBT Historical society.

Partygoers contributed everything from graffiti art, to drag performances, to go-go dancing, to blog posts. To read more about the night, check out this great post on the Gentleman Adventurer.

My contribution to the night can be seen below. Every frame provides a window into a world of the inspired individuals that make Honey so special.

My humble two-dimensional snapshots don’t do the crowd justice. Get out there and see it for yourself. You don’t know until you know.

Some favorite shots are here. For the full album check out the stream below.
